Devanne Villarreal, the devoted wife of Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, has always drawn strength from her family.

Central to her support system are her parents, Gustavo Villarreal and Barbara Davis, whose guidance and encouragement have played a key role not only in Devanne’s life but also in her husband’s NFL journey.

Devanne Villarreal was born on January 15, 1993, in Salinas, California.

Her early years were marked by her parents’ separation when she was just two years old.

Despite the divorce, Gustavo and Barbara remained committed to their daughter’s well-being, nurturing her growth and instilling the values of resilience, health, and determination.

Gustavo, of Mexican descent, and Barbara, a former fitness model, blended cultural and personal influences that shaped Devanne into the strong, supportive partner she is today.

Devanne grew up alongside her five siblings—Christopher, Celeste, Nate, Alyssa Esparza, and Logan Vonne—and maintained a close bond with each of them.

Her stepmother, Adelaida Villarreal, has also been instrumental in raising the children and fostering a sense of family unity.

The Villarreal family’s support extends beyond their daughter. During some of the most difficult moments of Davante Adams’ NFL career, Devanne’s parents emerged as steadfast allies.

Netflix’s recent series Receiver captures these moments, showing how Gustavo and Barbara, along with Devanne’s grandmother, actively checked in on her and Adams during high-stress games. Devanne shared,

“My mom, dad, and grandmother are really the main people who are reaching out. They usually send me a text. They try not to all call me. My grandma Mimi just texted me, ‘He has to get out of there or he’s gonna get hurt bad.’”

Their concern and guidance offered both reassurance and motivation, helping Adams navigate moments of intense physical and emotional pressure on the field.

The Villarreal household has always valued health, discipline, and family connection.

Barbara’s career as a fitness model and Gustavo’s cultural heritage highlight the importance of balance, perseverance, and well-being—values that Devanne carries into her own life as a wife and mother.

Together, they have helped raise a family of six children who remain closely connected and supportive of each other’s dreams.

Devanne and Davante Adams, married in 2018, now have two daughters, Daija Leigh and Dezi Lynn, and are expecting their third child.

Their family resides in Las Vegas, where the influence and encouragement of Gustavo and Barbara continue to be a source of strength.

Adams has often credited both his parents and his in-laws for providing the stability and love that have enabled him to thrive in the NFL.
