He was primarily renowned as one-half of the legendary tag team, the Wild Samoans, alongside his older brother, Afa.

Born in Leone, American Samoa, Sika was one of 13 children of Reverend Amituana’i Anoa’i and Tovaleomanaia Ripley.

At 14, his family relocated to San Francisco, California.

There, his father became the pastor of the First Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa.

Sika served in the United States Merchant Marine, traveling to the Philippines and Japan before leaving in 1969.

Afterward, he worked as a dockworker before following his brother Afa into professional wrestling.

Together, the Wild Samoans dominated the tag team scene, winning the WWF World Tag Team Championship three times.

Known for their intimidating presence and fierce style, they became trailblazers for Samoan wrestlers in the industry.

Their achievements were honored with inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.

Sika passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 79.

Just weeks later, his brother and tag team partner, Afa, also died, marking the end of an era for the iconic wrestling duo.

Despite Separating, Sika Anoa’i And His Wife Still Raised A Family

Sika Anoa’i was married to Patricia Hooker, of Italian-American descent, with whom he shared a long and enduring partnership.

The duo married each other when Sika Anoa’i was 24 years old.

However, they would ultimately separate while their children were still young.

Despite their separation, Patricia raised their son, Roman Reigns (Leati Joseph Anoa’i), along with her other children.

Her unwavering support significantly shaped Roman’s journey to becoming one of WWE’s biggest stars.

She has been a visible supporter of his career, often seen cheering him on during his matches.

The family endured the tragic loss of her son Matthew Anoa’i (known as Rosey in WWE) in 2017.

Furthermore, Patricia also raised three daughters alongside Roman.

However, there is not much public information regarding Sika Anoa’i and his former wife.

While Sika gained fame in professional wrestling as part of the Wild Samoans, Patricia’s strength and devotion were critical in maintaining the family’s legacy.

  • Roman Reigns, Sika’s son, has become a dominant force in WWE, holding multiple world championships and leading The Bloodline storyline with The Usos and Solo Sikoa, all from the family.
