Following that, Leon made a big move when he joined the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League at seventeen.
He was waived to the Kelowna Rockets for the 2015 World Junior Championships, where he was titled played MVP for appearing in 19 games and notching 28 points.
Not only that, Leon also grabbed the Stafford Smythe Trophy as Memorial Cup MVP in 2015.
However, the Rockets could not make it to the 2015 Memorial Cup.
Professional Career
Leon scored 105 points with the Raiders and stood up wide strong for the German national team at both the U-20 and senior levels, making his dream come true.
He got hired in the 2014 NHL Draft third-overall pick by Edmonton Oilers. Leon made an early jump to the NHL, which made him move ahead of his age.
He suddenly took a version of a man. His father clearly stated, “He had to become a man sooner rather than later.”
Leon signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Edmonton and formally changed the contract on 9 October 2014.
He enrolled in the game against Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, and Vancouver Canucks.
Leon became the first player to have six straight multi-point games since 1990 for the Oilers.
