Injured but Unstoppable: 12-Year-Old Long Beach’s Bailey ‘Bucketz’ Seaton Dominates 14U Basketball Playing Left-Handed

This article was last updated by on

Bailey ‘Bucketz’ Seaton, a rising star in the basketball world, has proven time and time again that age is just a number when it comes to raw talent and dedication.

The 12-year-old from Long Beach, California, is already turning heads in the 14U division, but it’s not just her skill set that’s making waves; it’s her incredible determination.

Despite a recent right elbow injury, Bailey has refused to let anything hold her back. In fact, she’s been playing up in the 14U division, showcasing her remarkable basketball IQ and deep-range shooting ability, all while using her off-hand. That’s right, Bailey is playing with her left hand.

For those who’ve never tried shooting jump shots with their off-hand, let me tell you: it’s no easy feat.

But Bailey has managed to hit over 50% of her left-handed jump shots in every game she’s played, even though she’s still hesitant to rely on it fully. It’s a rare combination of skill and tenacity that has people in awe.

In her most recent tournament appearances, including events like the Hype Her Hoops Prelude Championship, Bailey’s talent has been undeniable.

As the premier point guard in the Class of 2031, Bailey’s versatility on both ends of the court makes her a legitimate three-level scorer.

Her ability to score from deep, pull up off the dribble, and create for her teammates has helped elevate her team to new heights.

Bailey’s journey is further fueled by her father, Brian Seaton, a former collegiate basketball player at Mt. San Antonio College, where he led the team to a South Coast Conference Championship, and current owner of Next Level Performance (NLPBBALL) in Carson, California.

Brian also helped his Brea Olinda High School basketball team to back-to-back Orange League Championships.

Brian’s coaching philosophy and dedication to developing athletes at the highest level have no doubt shaped Bailey into the player she is today.

Growing up under the influence of a coach and mentor like Brian has only added to Bailey’s already impressive basketball intelligence and work ethic.

Despite her size, Bailey isn’t intimidated by bigger defenders. She drives to the basket with purpose and isn’t afraid to challenge taller players in the paint. Her athleticism, defense, and leadership on the floor have made her a standout player on her Why Not Premier team, contributing to their championship victories.

Bailey’s story is one of determination. Even with a right elbow injury, she’s showing the world that obstacles are just another opportunity to prove her greatness.

While she may be hesitant to fully embrace shooting with her left hand, she’s still dominating on the court and pushing through adversity like a true champion.

As her journey continues, there’s no doubt that Bailey ‘Bucketz’ Seaton has a bright future ahead. Whether she’s playing with her left hand or her right, one thing’s for sure—she’s going to keep shining, and we’ll be watching every step of the way.
