The youngster, Louis Rees-Zammit, has been a household name for his national team since making his debut in 2020. Earlier this year, the winger also had a special documentary aired by BBC before the Rugby World Cup began.
His meteoric rise to fame has intrigued several rugby fans worldwide, and the ongoing Rugby World Cup might be the best stage for the youngster to prove his hype.
The Welsh side is 2-0 in the Rugby World Cup, defeating Fiji 32-26 and Portugal 28-8. And during the game against Portugal, Louis mimicked his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, doing his celebratory pose.

Louis Rees-Zammit Family
Louis Rees-Zammit comes from an athletic family with mixed ethnicities. His mom, Maxine, has Welsh heritage, and his dad, Joe, is Maltese.
He takes his middle name from his mum and his last name from his dad. Louis’ paternal grandfather first made their way to London before they moved to Cardiff. So, he could’ve also represented England on the international stage.
His mother, Maxine, is a former netball player in her country, and her brother was a rugby player for Wales B and played as a fullback. Louis’ dad, Joe Zammit, played American football for Cardiff Bay Tigers and is currently a property developer.
In his interview with The Telegraph, Louis said his dad would talk to him about his playing days when he was young. But at the time, he wouldn’t pay any attention to it.
The rugby player has credited his father for gifting him with tremendous speed, which is one of the highlights of his gameplay.
Louis has an older brother, Taylor Rees-Zammit, who also plays rugby but not for Wales. Taylor has chosen to represent his father’s country, Malta, and debuted against Slovenia in 2021.
Along with having a professional rugby career, Taylor is also a businessman, having started his first company, Savitar Drinks, earlier this year.
He is a University of Manchester graduate with a law degree and previously worked as an Associate Partner at St James’ Place Wealth Management. Taylor is available on Instagram with the username @trzammit but has kept his handle private.
