For his high school education, Lucas Gordon attended Notre Dame High School. At Notre Dame, he was the first baseman and pitcher. He played under the head coach Tom Dill.

Likewise, Lucas was selected as the Mission League MVP for 2019. The player had a 5-1 record with a 1.39 ERA in 45.1 innings pitched as a junior, striking out 56 batters.

During the first season, Lucas pitched in 19 games with one start. He finished it with 21.2 innings pitched, a 3.32 ERA, and one save.
