In the last game of the regular season, Alabama defeated Arkansas 52-3, and Jones threw for 208 yards with 82% completion and no touchdowns.

The College Football Playoff Committee then ranked Alabama the number one team in the country on December 20. They were selected in the relocated Rose Bowl CFP semifinal game to take on #4 Notre Dame.
