Beasley appeared in only two out of seven Nuggets’ games in his rookie season and failed to score in either. He was assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League multiple times during the season.

On November 10, 2016, Beasley scored 12 points in 15 minutes off the bench in a game against the Warriors. On February 1, 2019, he set a career-high of 35 points in a win over the Rockets.

Beasley was traded to the Timberwolves on February 5, 2020, as part of a four-team, 12-player trade.
