After a three years long journey as the manager of Manchester United, they have finally sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from his position right after the club’s defeat at Watford.
Following it, as Manchester United stated to be searching for an interim manager, the current manager of Paris St. Germain, Mauricio Pochettino, spilled his interest in the position.
“I’m going to leave by the front door because I think everyone knows I’ve given everything for this club. This club means everything to me, and together we’re a good match, but unfortunately, I couldn’t get the results we needed, and it’s time for me to step aside.”

However, though a decision hasn’t been made, Manchester United has showcased an interest in Pochettino.
At present, Solskjaer’s assistant Michael Carrick is handling the temporary manager’s role.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer | His Career in Manchester United
A Norwegian professional football manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, initially commenced his career as a caretaker manager in Manchester United back on 19 December 2018. He has bagged 91 wins, 37 draws, and 40 losses with the club from that day on.
Talking about it, Ole bagged the UEFA Europa League Final in the 2020-21 season as his best record in Manchester. Ole ranked United Manchester sixth, third, and second in the previous three seasons during his three-year-long tenure.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United spent £441 million on the transfer market, which is exceptionally more than other managers. Ole’s statistics failed to please the board of directors despite the amount they have spent.
Hence, as per sources, the B.O.D. of Manchester United held a meeting on 20 November 2021. This emergency meeting took place right after their loss against Watford.
A day later, on 21 November, the club announced to part their ways with Ole.
“Manchester United announces that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as manager. Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United, and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.”
