Marching band member Shanice Owens from Snellville, Georgia, passed away on January 3, 2026, leaving behind her two young children.

Shanice attended South Gwinnett High School, where she was a member of the marching band practice team.

She was a football fan and was often seen at football games alongside her friends and teammates from the band.

Snellville, Georgia, Community Mourns the loss of Shanice Owens!

Shanice Owens passed away on January 3, 2025, after celebrating the New Year season with family and friends.

A few of her friends were shocked to hear the news, as they had just spoken to Owens during the New Year, wishing her a Happy New Year.

According to her family, she suffered from a severe asthma attack, a condition she had battled her entire life.

Her death has not only brought grief to her family but also to the wider community, many of whom are mourning and offering their sympathy to the Owens family.

One of her friends from high school even shared a heartfelt post on Facebook, expressing his sorrow and remembering the beautiful memories he shared with Shanice.

Following her passing, many have expressed their support and sympathy to the family and have asked how they can help the Owens family during this difficult time.

One of her family members has organized a GoFundMe campaign, which aims to raise $10,000 to cover funeral expenses and other financial losses.

While everyone who knew Shanice is processing this loss, she is survived by her young son Jaquez and her beautiful daughter Taliya.

As the Owens family bears this tragic loss, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to them, to Shanice’s friends, and to everyone who knew her.
