The NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion was born on December 21, 1968, in Ohio, United States, to parents Thomas & Mary.

He dreamt of joining the World Wrestling Federation and played pretend fighting with his younger siblings in the backyard.

However, at the age of 12, his parents sent him to live with his eldest sibling, Michael, in Davenport, Iowa, due to his unruly behavior.

The sole directive from Mark’s mother, Mary, was for him to stay engaged in sports.

Thus, Mark’s two years in the Quad Cities unfolded in a repetitive rhythm: football, wrestling, track, baseball; football, wrestling, track, baseball.

Mother: Mary Kerr

Mark’s mother, Mary Kerr, of Puerto Rican descent, was a staunch supporter throughout his life.

She held high expectations for her son, constantly pushing him to excel.
