He spent nine seasons in MLB playing for teams such as the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, and Baltimore Orioles.

Matt Harvey announced his retirement from professional baseball via Instagram on May 5, 2023.

Growing up, Matt was a New York Yankees fan and idolized players like Paul O’Neill and Derek Jeter.

Jessica and Jocelyn were born to Ed and Jackie Harvey in the Connecticut city of New London.

Their mother, Jackie Harvey, is a primary school teacher, and their father, Ed Harvey, played centerfield for the UConn Huskies in the 1972 College World Series and later became a coach in returned to Groton.

They both are of mixed ethnic descent of Irish and Italian, which makes them part of a mixed racial community.

Jessica is a realtor in Stonington Realty, LLC, and has closed one deal with a total value of $250k, per her Homes.com profile.

Meanwhile, Jocelyn is married to H Hartmann, but no information about her kids is available.

The sisters, Jessica and Jocelyn, love their younger brother Matt Harvey, a former American professional baseball pitcher.

The close bond between Matt Harvey and his father, Ed, was evident early on.

His father took on the responsibility of training Matt and accompanied him to daycare and school.

Matt would join his father during varsity baseball practices, where he observed Ed’s disciplined coaching style.

Ed believes this exposure to his coaching may have contributed to Matt’s strong will.

Ed’s father had a successful coaching career, including three state championships at Fitch High School, before becoming an assistant coach at Avery Point.

How hard he pushed his son. One day the coach reprimanded Matt for a mistake on the field. That prompted the team’s catcher to say, “Boy, Coach, you get on him a lot.”

However, Ed reevaluated his methods and realized how hard he pushed his son.

When the coach reprimanded Matt during a game, leading a team’s catcher to say, “Boy, Coach, you get on him a lot.”

This prompted Ed to change his approach and allow Matt more freedom on the field, recognizing that mistakes are part of the learning process.
