Early Life & Education
Sydney Parrish was born on October 10, 2001, in Fishers, Indiana, United States, to her parents, Shawn Parrish and Aimee Parrish.
Both her folks played basketball in college.
Her father played collegiate basketball for Ball State while her mother played at Valparaiso. The sport choice for Sydney was pretty obvious right from the beginning.
She grew up with her only sibling, an older sister Lauryn Parrish who swam at Kansas and was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team as a senior.
Similarly, in her senior year, Lauryn received the 2020-21 Marlene Mawson Exemplary Women Student-Athlete Award.
Education
Blessed with the genes of athletes, Sydney played high basketball at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana.
Paying under the head coach Kelly Graves, she averaged 24.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a senior, guiding her school to a 22-2 regular-season record and also a trip to the sectional title game.
Similarly, she scored 30 or more points eight times while racking up eight double-doubles leading HSE to the Indiana Class 4-A State title.
She finished high school as the all-time leading scorer and Hamilton County’s all-time leading girl’s scorer.
After an impressive high school career, Sydney became one of five five-star freshmen to join the Oregon Ducks ahead of the 2020-21 season.
