Verstappen has been fascinated by racing since he was four years old. He won his first national championship at nine years old.

His family background is of racing, so naturally, Maxx was drawn to it and had competed in many races since childhood. He had an instructor from an early age and was more focused on racing than studying.

In Karting, Maxx won the Belgian title in 2006 and the Dutch Minimax title in 2007. He made his racing debut on January 12, 2014, in the Florida Winter Series. On February 5, 2014, he won his first formula race at Palm Beach International Raceway.

Max joined the Red Bull Junior team in 2014. He extended his contract with the team in 2020. In 2020, he won the Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone despite having a rough start.

Max Verstappen Brother

Max Verstappen was born on September 30, 1997 in Belgium to Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumpen and had a younger sister, Victoria. His parents got separated some years after his birth.

After the separation, Max lived with his Father and his sister Victoria with their mother. Victoria is also a racing driver like his brother.

His Father, Jos, was also a former Dutch Formula One driver, and his mother, Sophie Kumpen, did karting. He comes from a racing background family.

Max’s parents are former racers, so his passion and interest in racing in Max has come from them.  His parents supported him in every step, from hiring an instructor to helping follow him at a young age.

Max also has three half-siblings from his Father, Jos’ other marriages. Jos had a daughter Blue Jaye from his second marriage with Kelly van der Waal in 2014.

Jason Jaxx and Mila Faye are his children from his third marriage with Sandy Sijtsma. Jason Jaxx was born in 2019, and Mila Faye was born in 2020.
