Kyle John Curtner was a 32‑year‑old man from Mayfield Heights, Ohio, whose sudden passing on January 1, 2026, left his family and community devastated.

Just days before his death, he had been reported missing on December 28, 2025, in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Loved ones shared urgent pleas for help, noting he was last seen on foot in the Van Aken District without a coat or belongings during harsh winter weather.

Just 4 days after the missing-person alert was issued, he was found deceased in Shaker Heights.

Kyle’s wife, Brandy, shared the devastating news of his passing on January 1, 2026, asking for privacy as the family grieves.

Kyle Curtner Was a Police Officer and a Martial Arts Black Belt!

Kyle Curtner was born on September 13, 1993, to Michelle and Jack Curtner.

He dedicated his career to serving others as a police officer with Mentor‑on‑the‑Lake and North Perry.

Beyond his work, he was a man of many passions; from cars and bodybuilding to horror movies, gaming, and martial arts, where he earned a black belt in Kung Fu.

He was remembered as goofy, caring, and protective, someone who lit up every room he entered and left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community.

Moreover, he was a devoted husband to Brandy Curtner, a loving son and brother, and a cherished uncle to Sophia, Gabby, and Ian.

Kyle’s passing deeply affected his family, friends, and the wider community.

One of Kyle’s closest friends reflected on the loss, saying:

2025 ended in the worst way possible. Kyle has been my best friend on and off for the last 15 years so I feel like I lost a brother. If you knew him, you knew how much of a stubborn but lovable ass he was and you loved being in his company and seeing his big goofy smile. I love you and I’ll miss you Kyle Curtner

Kyle was predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine Zawacki, Mike Mansour, and Jack and Edna Curtner.

Likewise, he is survived by his wife Brandy, his parents Michelle and Jack, his siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign “In Loving Memory of Kyle Curtner” was also organized to support his family during this difficult time.

Regarding the celebration of life, funeral services will take place on January 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations in Eastlake, Ohio, with burial following in Willoughby.
