Diogo Jota, whose full name is Diogo José Teixeira da Silva, is a Portuguese professional football player. He was born on December 4, 1996, in Massarelos, Portugal.

He began his professional career at the Portuguese club Paços de Ferreira before moving to Atlético Madrid’s youth system in 2016.

He made his senior debut for Atlético Madrid in 2016 but spent most of his time on loan at Porto during the 2016-2017 season.

In 2017, Jota transferred to the English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he had an impressive spell.

In 2020, he made a move to Liverpool FC, joining the reigning Premier League champions. He has continued to showcase his talent and has become an important part of Liverpool’s squad.

Jota also represents the Portuguese national team, making his debut in 2019.

Andre is the younger brother who was born on April 28, 2000 (age 25 years old).

Andre Silva is Jota’s brother, but fans do not realize it as Andre kept his family name and Diogo did not.

As of 2022/23, Andre has 2 appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist, and one yellow card at his current club Gondomar.

Andre Silva may not be in the big leagues like his brother, but, looking at his stats, we can assume that Andre is an amazing and reliable football player.

Diogo Jota Personal Life

With his passion for football, Diogo is also known for his Esports life. He is an avid gamer with his own Esports team named “Diogo Jota eSports” and regularly streams on Twitch.

During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Diogo participated in a special series of FIFA matches organized by the Premier League.

Jota emerged victorious in the final of the invitational FIFA competition, defeating Trent Alexander-Arnold, who would later become his teammate, in the process.

In 2021, Diogo Jota and his wife, Rute Cardoso, welcomed the birth of their son, expanding their family.

Diogo and his brother had both football-loving parents, which made the career choice of him and his brother more supportive.

He became the first player to score two goals in a match for any club in Portugal after Cristiano Ronaldo.

When Diogo made the eye-raising move to the English side Wolves, fans disapproved, but his family, who supported him since day one, approved the move.

Diogo Jota Injury 

Diogo Jota has recently discussed the challenges he faced during his injury-plagued season at Liverpool, acknowledging the mental toll it has taken on him.

Injured in a 1-0 win against Manchester City on October 16, Diogo Jota couldn’t participate in the Qatar World Cup.

Following a hamstring tear in pre-season, Diogo Jota faced another setback with a calf injury, delaying his return to action.

“I just need to get my certainty back, and I think that will come with more minutes, and hopefully, I can help with the team with goals and assists,” stated the Liverpool striker.
