JP Pietersen and his wife Megan Weir-Smith have been married for over 8 years.
After dating for over eight years, they eventually exchanged wedding vows.
They are proud parents of two adorable daughters named Maia and Aria.
Jon-Paul Roger “JP” Pietersen is a retired South African rugby union player who last played with the Sharks.
He represented the Springboks and played an integral role in their Rugby World Cup victory in 2007.
Hailing from Stellenbosch, South Africa, he was born in July 1986.
Pietersen embarked on his rugby journey by joining the Natal Sharks in 2005, right after completing his schooling, and debuted in the Currie Cup the same year.
The former player earned 70 caps for South Africa following his senior debut in 2006. His final game for the Springboks was in 2016 when they faced England at Twickenham.
Having transitioned into coaching, JP Pietersen currently holds a junior coaching position with the Sharks.

JP Pietersen and Megan Weir-Smith first crossed paths back in 2005.
Megan’s sister, Cara, introduced her boyfriend, Dusty (now her husband), and his cousin to her family.
She was immediately drawn to the tall, soft-spoken cousin.
JP recalls that the feeling was mutual: “It was love at first sight for sure. I knew very early on she was going to be my wife.”
The two remained close friends for several years, and as they say, the rest is history.
They exchanged their vows on June 6, 2015, in JP’s hometown of Stellenbosch. JP had proposed a year earlier in Cape Town.
Their first child, a daughter named Maia Pietersen, was born on January 31, 2018, and their second daughter, Aria Pietersen, was born on August 4, 2020.
Megan Pietersen: Profession & Education
In addition to fulfilling her roles as a devoted mother of two young children and the wife of an internationally renowned sports star, Megan (birthday January 13) also boasts a successful entrepreneurial journey.
She established a business called Noa & Co, which specializes in a selection of all-natural, dairy, and gluten-free collagen creamers and plant protein powders.
While Megan has always had a passion for sports and a keen interest in nutrition, her true enthusiasm for health and wellness was ignited while living in Japan.
The native of Durban attended school in Durban North. Subsequently, she completed her bachelor’s degree in communication science at the University of South Africa in 2010.
Her professional journey included a role as a marketing coordinator at Aon South Africa from May 2010 to July 2012 and later at Mr. Price Group from February 2013 to November 2014 before moving to Japan.
While in Japan, she pursued her studies (even flying home for exams) and formed a close friendship with a nutritionist.
Together, they attended wellness seminars and cooking classes, leading to a collaboration on some of the formulations Megan now employs in Noa & Co’s products.
The couple spent three years in Japan, followed by stints in the UK and France, where they welcomed their first daughter. In 2019, they returned to South Africa.
Megan initially registered her company in 2017, but it wasn’t until their return to South Africa in 2019 that she officially launched the business.
