College Career
Ingram attended the University of South Carolina in the South Carolina Gamecocks football team from 2007 to 2011 under coach Steve Spurrier. He played as a linebacker on the team and then switched to a defensive end.
In his junior year, he led the team to victory with nine sacks in 2010. In 2011, Ingram recorded ten sacks, 15 tackles, and two interceptions.
Ingram had two touchdowns in the match against Georgia in a 45–42 win. He ran 68 yards for a touchdown. In his senior year, he played an excellent game for the Gamecocks.
The team ranked fourth in the national poll. Ingram was selected for the All-Southeastern Conference and was named All-American.
