Yakiri’s college football journey has taken him across the country. He began at the University of Connecticut (UConn) in Storrs, Connecticut, where he played 17 games over two seasons and earned impressive pass and run blocking grades.

He then transferred to the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, where he appeared in games for the Buffaloes before continuing his career at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, where he now plays as a key part of the Tigers’ offensive line.

Furthermore, off the field, Yakiri’s family has been a cornerstone of his success.

Before joining DeSoto, Dennis worked under coach Frank Gendusa, serving as Running Backs Coach, Defensive Backs Coach, and Special Teams Coach.

In 2007, he was hired as Athletic Coordinator at East Junior High School.

Dennis played college football at McMurry University, where he was a standout running back and three-year letterman.
