Michael Anthony Williams was an American football wide receiver who played six seasons in the NFL.
Born on May 18, 1987, in Buffalo, NY, Williams attended Riverside Institute of Technology.
Similarly, for his collegiate years, he joined the Syracuse Orange football team. However, following a violation of team rules, he quit the team in 2009.
Mike started his NFL journey with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their fourth-round (101st overall) pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Later, he played with Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, but his stints with these teams were rather short-lived.

After his stint with the Chiefs ended in 2016, he started working in construction. Reportedly, Williams lost his life while working at a construction site.
On September 1, 2023, while Mike was working, he suffered a major accident at work. A steal beam fell on his head, causing a severe head injury, which required immediate medical attention.
By the time he reached the hospital, he was reported to have breathing problems and had to be rushed to ICU.
His head injury caused swelling in his brain, and his spinal cord was ruptured. These injuries resulted in complete paralysis in his right arm as well as his lower body from the waist down.
Moreover, his lungs were filled with water. And with relentless efforts from the doctors and medical associates, Mike didn’t survive to see the next morning.

Bills fans took to social media to pay their respect to the late wide receiver. One fan writer on X, formerly Twitter: “Just awful, Condolences to all of Mike Williams’ Loved Ones.”

Contracts During His NFL Career
In his relatively short NFL career, he played with three different teams while failing to earn any amount with the Chiefs in his final season.
Started with the Buccaneers, signing A rookie contract for 4 years worth $2.32 million. Later in 2013, they agreed on a 5-year/$39.62 million contract extension.
However, the following season, he was traded to the Buffalo Bills and restructured $400k of his 2014 workout bonus into a guaranteed base salary.
On April 25, 2016, Mike was signed by the Chiefs on a 1-year/$760k deal, but the Chiefs released him on August 16, 2016.
Moreover, throughout his NFL career, he reportedly made around $12 million.
