Mike Zimmer had a wife named Vikki Zimmer, whom he met under the backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains at Weber State University in the early 1980s.
After dating for almost a year, they got married and had a very loving relationship. The duo also gave birth to three kids; Adam, Corri, and Marki.
Unfortunately, after 27 years of marriage, Vikki Zimmer died unexpectedly at their home in Ohio on October 8, 2009.
During his wife’s demise, Zimmer was the Bengals’ defensive coordinator.
“She was the sweetest, kindest, most caring person who’d never say a bad word about anybody,” Zimmer says. “I mean, [that] story really typifies her. That was my wife.”
Moreover, Mike also had to unexpectedly lose his son, Adam Zimmer, who was also a professional coach in the NFL, on October 31, 2022.
The news was then confirmed by the daughter of the coach, Corri Zimmer Whiter, via an Instagram post.
