Sister Of Joel Embiid: Muriel Embiid

Joel Embiid was born to Christine & Thomas Embiid on March 16, 1994, in Cameroon.

He is the oldest sibling among his family members, which includes his sister Muriel Embiid and brother Arthur Embiid.

The exact age gap between the Embiid siblings is unknown. However, it is known that Muriel is the middle child while Arthur is the youngest.

Joel’s brother, Arthur, unfortunately, passed away in 2014 following a car accident. Joel and Muriel had traveled to Cameroon from Philadelphia to attend their brother’s funeral.

Muriel has been a constant source of support for him during the challenging periods of his career.

While there have been rumors that Muriel played for the volleyball team of Rochester University in 2014, our search did not produce any solid evidence.

Unfortunately, there is currently limited information available regarding her profession and education.

MVP Of 2022-23 Season

After delivering an exceptional performance throughout the 2022-23 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers center was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) on May 2, 2023.

This achievement marked the seventh time a Sixer player received the prestigious MVP honors, joining the likes of Hall of Famers such as Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Allen Iverson, and Moses Malone.

Throughout the regular season, the MVP averaged 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in 66 games.

Embiid recorded his career-high of 59 points against the Utah Jazz on November 13, 2022.

This feat also placed him among the fifth-best scoring performances in the 76ers franchise history.

Additionally, the center was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month in December, which was the fifth time he received this award.

He also joined the exclusive ranks of Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as one of only three centers in NBA history to have three 50+ point games in a single season.

Recent Injury Of Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid was unable to play in the first game of the Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics due to a knee sprain he suffered.

The game took place on May 1, 2023, and the 76ers emerged victorious with a score of 119-115, with James Harden scoring 45 points.

According to sources, it is likely that Embiid will also miss the second game of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The injury occurred during Game 3 of the Sixers’ first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets when he contested a shot by Cameron Johnson and landed awkwardly alongside the Nets forward.

Despite the injury, he continued to play for the remainder of that game.

Following a medical examination, doctors determined that Embiid had sprained his right knee’s LCL.

The extent of his injury is still unknown, and it’s uncertain when he will return to the court.
