March 13, 2021, saw a historic day for a triple-double record in the NBA.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Domantas Sabonis and Julius Randle are the five players to make the NBA record for  triple-double on saturday possible for the first time in NBA history.

Recording a triple-double is very important for any player as it is to score the baskets. This determines a player’s performance status.

It is one of the officially recorded statistics in the NBA. This also determines the candidacy for the MVP title, which is a significant title in the league.

It is a single-game performance in which the player reaches a score of ten or more in at least three of the statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots.

Even though making triple-double in a game is common but frequently and making in consecutive games is not that common.

There are many records for triple-doubles made by one player or two players.

But this time a NBA history was made by five different player in a day.

NBA record shows Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook as the only players in the NBA to achieve a triple-double in a single season.

Westbrook is the only player to achieve this record multiple times, doing it in three consecutive seasons.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Russell Westbrook made triple-doubles on the same game.

Bucks’ star player Giannis Antetokounmpo and Washington Wizards’ star guard Russell Westbrook clashed in Washington D.C on Saturday and gave a historic result.

Each of them registers massive triple-doubles in the Bucks’ win over the Wizards.

This marks just the sixth time in NBA history where opposing players record over 30 point triple-doubles in the same game.

And it is just the fourth time within the last four seasons. Giannis put up 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists for the win.

Giannis becomes just the 2nd player in the franchise history with triple-double in back-to-back games.

NBA hall of fame Kareem Abdul- Jabbar is the only other Franchise player to achieve that success.

Westbrook, meanwhile, put up 42 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists in the same game.

He inches closer in surpassing all-time leader Oscar Robertson on the career triple-doubles with only 25 more to go.

James Harden becoming aggressive to give the win.

With Kevin Durant sidelined due to his Hamstring strain, James Harden had to be aggressive.

He put up a performance with 10 rebounds, 10 assists and put up a 24 point for the 5point lead over Detroit Pistons at Barclays Center.

Both teams tied at 92-92, two baskets from Harden, and a steal right after by Kyrie Irving gave the Nets a much-needed lead at 96-92.

Two free- throws from Harden again gave a confirmed win over the Pistons.

“I had to be aggressive,” Harden said. “Things weren’t going great for us offensively.

Harden added, “I think defensively we were playing hard, and it showed, but it was one of those nights where we’ve just got to find a way to win.”

“I just had to get to the basket and create something for myself and our team. I just wanted to be a little more aggressive in the last two minutes.”

James Harden and his team Brooklyn Nets have 12 wins in their last 13 games.

Domantas Sabonis help Pacer defeat the Suns.

Next up, we have Indiana Pacer’s Domantas Sabonis, who registered 13 rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals with 22 points.

This helped the Pacers get the 11 point lead over top defensive Phoenix Suns.

Sabonis scored 14 first-half points as the Pacers held a 62-57 lead over the Suns at the game held at Phoenix Suns Arena before the break.

The Pacer’s two-time All-star is on the list of five players who are averaging at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists this 2020-21 season.

Julius Randle gives New York Knicks a win and creates history on the way.

Finally, there is the most improved player candidate Julius Randle who managed to get 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists.

This led New York Knicks to the win over Oklahoma City Thunder by 22 points at Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Thunders’ home ground.

During the game, Randle made a bit of history by:

becoming the first Knicks player to record multiple triple-doubles in the same season over three decades.

The last player to accomplish this was Mark Jackson way back in 1989. On top of that, it is the Knicks’ 20th win of the season.

The Knicks are one of the most historic franchises in the NBA, but they are not creating much of an impact for the last few decades.

They have made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2000 and made it to the playoffs just five times.’

“Obviously, the Knicks have so much history and tradition, so to be a part of that is obviously a blessing for sure,” Randle said.

Randle also made a new career-high for assists with 12 assists. This shows that he is improving under new knicks coach Tom Thibodeau.

Players make and break records with each passing game. However, it’s always exciting to see players making those records.
