After high school, he attended Utah State University to continue his study and football career.
In his sophomore year at the University, he finished with 123 tackles, six quarterback hurries, and seven sacks. After that, he entered the 2015 NFL draft.
In 2015, Nick participated in the NFL Scouting Combine, but he missed the bench press due to an injury.
Again in April 2016, he participated in the bench press. After that, he was selected by Cincinnati Bengals.
