Kennedy was born in Busselton, located about three hours south of Perth. Her family eventually relocated to Perth, where she completed her primary school education.

At the age of 11, she embarked on her athletic journey by joining Perry Lakes Little Athletics.

It was a year later when Kennedy’s promising talent for pole vaulting was recognized by a coach during an athletics meet.

In 2012, at the age of 14, Kennedy made a significant mark by securing second place in the senior Australian pole vault championships, achieving a personal best of 4.10 meters. 

Nina Kennedy Boyfriend, Declan Mountford

The pole vaulter Nina Kennedy is dating a professional Australian rules footballer, Declan Mountford, who plays for Claremont Football Club in the WAFL.

Previously, he played for the North Melbourne Football Club and the West Coast Eagles Football Club in the AFL.

Mountford hails from Manypeaks, a small town in Western Australia’s Great Southern region.

After his stints with North Albany Football Club, where he played both Colts and senior football and participated in five games at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, he transitioned to Perth to join Claremont Football Club.

In the 2015 national draft, he was selected by the North Melbourne Football Club as their fifth pick, sixty overall.

His AFL journey commenced in the opening round of the 2017 season at Etihad Stadium when he made his debut, despite a forty-three-point loss to West Coast.
