Notre Dame’s running back Jeremiyah Love has had strong support from his parents, L’Tyona and Jason Love, for his football career from a young age. L’Tyona and Jason will undoubtedly be at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, to root for their son on January 20.
Love, 19, is in his sophomore year with Notre Dame and has already built a strong fanbase for him.
In his sophomore year, Jeremiyah has rushed for 1,121 yards and made 17 touchdowns. In the semi-final game against Penn State, Love led the side with 45 yards on 11 carries.
His highlight moment came in the fourth quarter, when he scored a determined two-yard touchdown, giving the Irish their first lead.
After the game, Love had some words to say to the Nittany Lions. The running back said, “We went out and played like the dogs that we are. We ain’t no little dogs, we’re big dogs.”
The Fighting Irish will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on January 20. If the Fighting Irish can overcome the Buckeyes, it will be their first national championship in 37 years.
Jeremiyah Love Shares A Strong Bond With His Parents
L’Tyona and James Love make sure to attend every game that their son Jeremiyah plays.
The Love family hails from St. Louis, Missouri, where L’Tyona and James served as sergeants for the St. Louis Police Department.
During Jeremiyah’s freshman year at high school, L’Tyona had to decide where she wanted to continue serving or spend more time with her son.
Her only son had written her a letter wishing he could spend more time with her.
The mom-of-two chose the latter. In an interview with ABC57, L’Tyona reflected on the lost time and the moments she had missed with her son.
Due to her hectic schedule, L’Tyona could never attend any of Jeremiyah’s basketball or football games.
Sometimes, she would even miss his birthdays. But during Jeremiyah’s freshman year, L’Tyona decided to dedicate more time to her son.
The sacrifice was worth it, as L’Tyona saw her son blossom into a four-star recruit out of high school.
During the interview, James Love talked about the special pre-game ritual he performs with his son. “You win even when you lose; you’re still a winner.“
In his media day interview, Jeremiyah said his father’s words helped him to stay focused during the game and give his best for his team.
The running back’s special bond with his parents has propelled him to heights at a young age.
