Parker Meadows is quite a promising talent for the Tigers, holding the No. 2 spot among their outfield prospects and ranking as their No. 10 overall prospect.

The professional baseball player joined the team after being selected in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft, having been scouted from Grayson High School in Georgia.

The Tigers saw his potential and picked him as the 44th choice in the draft. Meadows was one of four minor leaguers from the Detroit Tigers brought up to the auxiliary training facility in Toledo.

And on November 15, 2022, the Tigers made sure to add him to their 40-man roster, protecting him from the Rule 5 draft.

On August 21, 2023, Parker Meadows made his Major League debut against Chicago Cubs as center field.

Parker Meadows Brother

Parker Meadows brother, Austin, was born on May 3, 1995. He is four years older than Parker.

Austin, just like his brother, is a professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball (MLB).

Growing up in Grayson, Georgia, he enjoyed playing various games, including football and baseball.

During his junior year, Meadows played a crucial role in leading his high school baseball team to the semi-finals. He received the honor of being named a preseason First-Team High School All-American by Rawlings and Perfect Game.

After high school, Austin committed to play college baseball for the Clemson Tigers at Clemson University.

However, his potential in baseball caught the attention of many, and he was selected as the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2013 draft by The Pittsburgh Pirates.

Throughout his career, Meadows has also played with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays in MLB. His exceptional performance and contributions to the sport led to him being named an MLB All-Star in 2019.

Austin Meadows Is Suffering From Anxiety

A six-year Major League Baseball veteran, Meadows, has taken a break from the Tigers due to mental health struggles.

According to his manager AJ Hinch, Austin Meadows, an outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, has been dealing with anxiety issues.

However, despite these challenges, Meadows has been showing signs of improvement as he focuses on his mental health.

Because of his condition, he has not been involved in any baseball-related activities.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to participate in his brother’s debut game against the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

Parker Meadows Parents

Meadows comes from a sports-oriented family. His mother, Staci, excelled in softball during her time at Georgia Southern University and Georgia State University.

On the other side, his father, Kenny, has experience in both baseball and football, having played at Morehead State University.

It’s clear that sports run in the family, and both of his parents are not only proud but also supportive of their two boys’ athletic careers.
