Patrick Justin McAfee was born on May 2, 1987. As of 2024, he is 36 years of age. The former punter was born to his father, Tim McAfee, and mother, Sally McAfee.

Freshman season

As a freshman, McAfee started his job at West Virginia Mountaineers. Pat had 70 kickoffs in a single season with 20 touchdowns.

Furthermore, one of the memorable moments during his freshman season was against Louisville. The game ended 46-55; Pat had a successful onside kick during the game.

Sophomore season

During the game against Georgia Tech at Gator Bowl, the West Virginia Mountaineers went on to win the game. The team also won ten games during the event.

In 2009, he was invited to the Senior Bowl in Alabama after his senior season at WVU (West Virginia University Athletics).

In 2009, McAfee was drafted by Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. Furthermore, he handled kickoff and punting duties for the Colts during the same year.

Furthermore, the athlete made it to the Super Bowl XLIV in 2009, where his team faced the New Orleans Saints. 

In addition, Pat posted a 48.2- yard average on punts. Later, he declared his signing of a five-year contract with the colts.

Pat announced his retirement from the Indianapolis Colts after eight years in the NFL on February 2, 2017. During his eight-season in the NFL, Pat was named PFWA all-rookie Team, Pro Bowl, First-team All-Pro, and First-Team All-American.

McAfee later set his sight on the entertainment industry. In addition, he made a guest appearance for NFL and Fox Sports’ college broadcasts in late 2018.

WWE made the decisions with the intent not to overexpose Pat McAfee. The news also states that WWE’s call and Pat will be out of T.V. appearance for a while. 

Move To SmackDown, Various Feuds, And temporary Leave (2021–2022)

As a color commentator, McAfree, alongside Michael Cole, announced WWE On April 2021.

The Pat McAfee Show features an interview with Vince McMahon on March 3, 2022, during which McMahon offers McAfee a match at WrestleMania. The following day, Austin Theory revealed that he faced McAfee at WrestleMania on the March 4 episode of SmackDown.

Over the course of the next weeks, Theory slapped McAfee in the face while he was commentating, and McAfee responded by chasing or hitting Theory.

In order to maintain his match at WrestleMania and his job, Vince McMahon force McAfee to apologize to Theory on the SmackDown edition of March 18.

McAfee challenged Corbin to a match at SummerSlam the following week on SmackDown. After Money in the Bank went off the air, Corbin attacked McAfee from the crowd and accepted McAfee’s challenge for a match at SummerSlam, and McAfee wore a neck brace while attending UFC 276. 

McAfee ended up defeating Happy Corbin after hitting him with a low blow when referee Charles Robinson was down, then pinning Corbin with a sunset flip from the middle rope.

Following his loss to Madcap Moss on the June 17 episode of SmackDown, Happy Corbin confronted McAfee angrily. McAfee had been making fun of Corbin throughout his feud with Moss, and this caused the audience to laugh at Corbin.

On SmackDown the following week, McAfee challenged Corbin to a contest at SummerSlam. 

After striking referee Charles Robinson with a low blow while he was on the ground, McAfee eventually defeated Corbin by pinning him with a sunset flip from the middle rope.

On September 7, WWE announced that McAfee joined ESPN’s College GameDay and returned to WWE after the show ended. He would take a break from working for WWE for the foreseeable future.

As per ESPN reports, the show performed by Pat was sold out. Pat McAfee Foundation conducted the performance. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering academic scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel.
