Wes and Stacy Jessie, who run the Sno Shack and Grinders Baseball, are experiencing a difficult time.
Their son, Layne, 12, a Bell Creek Middle School student-athlete, was recently in a bad ATV accident on May 6 in Virginia.
He has serious injuries, including head trauma and several broken bones in his wrist, ribs, and collarbone.
Layne is now in critical care at MCV, and the next few days are crucial for his recovery.
Grinders Baseball Family Rallies To Support the Jessie Family After Son’s ATV Accident
A meal train has been set up to support the Jessie family as they care for their son Layne, who was seriously injured in an ATV accident.
With hospital visits, stress, and recovery ahead, having meals taken care of can be a big help.
The family (two adults and one child) has no food allergies or restrictions, and meals can be dropped off between 4:00 and 5:00 PM.
Jennifer Ondo is organizing the meal train, and many have already signed up, but more help is still welcome.
Let’s rally around the Jessie family and show them how much this community cares.
Similarly, the Grinders Baseball family is coming together to support Layne and his parents.
Our Grinders Baseball family is rallying around one of our own.

Coach Wes Jessie and his wife Stacy have poured so much love, time, and heart into our young athletes and our community. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them. Their son, Layne (#88), was involved in a serious ATV accident this week and is currently in intensive care. He has a long road to recovery ahead, and we’re wrapping them in love, prayers, and support every step of the way.
The Jessie family is known and loved throughout the community – from the ballfields to their beloved Mechanicsville Sno Shack. If you feel moved to help, we have two ways you can support:
MealTrain (meals, gift cards, donations): https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/w0lwe7

Let’s come together for this incredible family just like they’ve always done for us.
In January, Layne’s mom, Stacy, excitedly reached out to organize a Super Bowl pool to help cover Layne’s travel baseball expenses for the spring season.
She offered squares for $20 each, making it easy for supporters to join in through Venmo.
It’s clear how much love and effort the Jessie family has always put into supporting Layne’s passion for baseball, and now, the community has a chance to give that same support back to them during this tough time.
It’s Super Bowl pool time!! If you could please help out Layne’s travel baseball expenses for the spring season!!
