Caden Borcherding, a native of Acworth, Georgia, and a standout baseball player at Etowah High School, has committed to Clemson University, capturing the attention of many curious to learn more about this emerging baseball star.
Born to parents, Jason and Jackie Borcherding, Caden Borcherding began his athletic journey from a very young age, following in the footsteps of his father, who serves as an assistant football and baseball coach at Etowah High School.
Under his father’s leadership, Caden Borcherding is winning the hearts of many with his remarkable high school baseball career at Etowah High School, and recently committed to play collegiate baseball at Clemson University.
In a recent interview with Baseball Lifestyle 101, the number one baseball player in Georgia, Caden, shared how sports, especially baseball has shaped his life.
When asked what the baseball lifestyle means to him, the Etowah High School baseball standout replied:
“Everything, whatever you do every day, you got to be a leader, everything you work through, that’s what it brings to the table.”
He further added that he had always wanted to become a catcher.
Caden Borcherding started at first base, as he was the only one who could catch the ball. He started catching coach pitch when he was like six or seven.
He stated:
“I knew since I was a little kid that that’s what i wanted to do and followed that dream and now we’re doing good.”
Furthermore, when asked when he felt like he was not only a good catcher, but that he could really do this level, Caden confidently replied that he has always been a good athlete.
Caden received his first offer in eighth grade, showing that baseball was a passion he had known he wanted to pursue from a very young age.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Caden stated that he is thrilled for the opportunity to play ACC baseball at Clemson University.
“It’s going to be super fun. I’m excited for Miami. That’ll be fun. Notre Dame’s fun. South Carolina’s big rivalry, so that’ll be fun. Looking forward to all of them.:
Borcherding is ready to be an outstanding leader, compete, and focus on building his career. He is also looking forward to being a good teammate and accomplishing the goal.
Similarly, Caden also shared his feelings about winning the state championship in his freshman year of high school, which was a huge accomplishment for him.
Talking about his high school journey, Caden Borcherding, who is set to graduate from Etowah High School in 2027, has emerged as one of the state’s top baseball talents.
A three-time Select Festival athlete, he has consistently showcased his skills on the national stage, excelling both offensively and defensively.
Standing 6’1” and weighing 190 pounds, Caden is a right-handed catcher and utility player, earning recognition at the 16U PG National Elite and UBC East tournaments.
His athleticism is reflected in impressive metrics, including a pop time of 1.87–2.06 seconds, an 80 mph throwing velocity, a 60-yard dash of 7.27 seconds, and an exit velocity of 102.4 mph.
Representing Team Elite 16U Scout in travel baseball, Caden’s dedication and consistent performance culminated in his commitment to Clemson University on December 9, 2025, where he aims to continue developing his game at the collegiate level.
As he progresses through high school and beyond, Caden has firmly established himself as a standout player with a bright future in baseball.
