Growing up in a big family with three sisters and six brothers, Matthew Judon developed a strong sense of responsibility, competitiveness, and teamwork that shaped both his personal life and football career.

Matthew Judon is an American professional football player known for his work as an edge rusher and linebacker in the NFL.

Born in 1992, he built his reputation as a disruptive pass‑rusher with the Baltimore Ravens before becoming a star with the New England Patriots.

Recently, the Miami Dolphins released veteran pass rusher Matthew Judon after a deeply disappointing season in which he failed to record a single sack across 13 games.

Judon joined Miami in mid‑August on a short‑term deal meant to add depth to an already crowded edge‑rushing group.

Instead, his production never materialized. He played roughly 41% of defensive snaps but finished with zero sacks, just one tackle for loss, and three quarterback hits.

Analytics reflected the decline as well; his Pro Football Focus grade ranked as the worst among all Dolphins defenders who played at least 15% of snaps.

Judon now enters waivers, where any team can claim him within 24 hours.

Matthew Judon Wore Jersey Number 9 In College to Honor His Nine Siblings!

Matthew Judon comes from a big, supportive family, and that background shaped much of who he is.

He was born on August 15, 1992, to parents, Pieretta and Earl, in Pontiac, Michigan, and grew up as the sixth of ten children.

He is one of the ten children, with six brothers and three sisters, and grew up with nine siblings in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Being in such a large household meant constant competition, shared responsibilities, and a lot of personality, something he has said helped build his toughness and discipline.

Although his siblings aren’t known individually, Judon has mentioned that growing up with nine brothers and sisters taught him patience and helped him fit easily into NFL Locker rooms.

Additionally, Judon has spoken about the challenges his family faced, including financial struggles, and he frequently credits his mother’s hard work and strength as a major influence on his life.

To honor his siblings, Judon wore the number 9 during his college career and continued to use it as a symbol of his family’s importance to his success.

He often credits both parents for giving him the work ethic that carried him from a small Division II college to the NFL.

Today, Judan has a family of his own. He married BreighAnn Judon, a registered nurse, in June 2018, whom he met while he was a college student at Grand Valley State University.

As the report suggests, they connected through a dating app.

Together, the couple has four children: Aniyah, born in June 2015; Leonidas, born on January 16, 2020; Azayda Joy, born on November 10, 2021; and another child.

In February 2019, Matthew and his wife, BreighAnn, went through a very difficult moment when she had a miscarriage just six weeks into her pregnancy.

Judon later said that the pain of that loss never fully goes away, but talking about it publicly helped them heal a little.

A few months later, in late summer 2019, they shared the news that BreighAnn was pregnant again, acknowledging the heartbreak they had faced and the hope they were holding onto.

Today, the couple has four children, and their family has become an important source of strength for both of them.

He often talks about how important fatherhood is to him, and he shares family moments more often than football highlights.
