Raphael Varane’s Absence From The Match Against Burnley 

Raphael Varane will be benched in United’s clash against Burnley.

United’s manager, Ralf Rangnick, has rested Varane for the visit of Burnley following Varane’s return from a hamstring injury.

Varane was a part of the starting lineup on Monday night at Newcastle. It was Varane’s first appearance since the 2nd of November 2022. 

Rangnick has opted for six changes to the playing XI after the game against Newcastle. 

Among the big names left out was Raphael Varane too.

According to Manchester Evening News, Varane has been benched to ensure he gets enough time to get back to full fitness. 

Varane’s fellow center-back, Victor Lindelof, is too unavailable for the game against Burnley. Victor will continue his isolation for COVID-19.

Raphael Xavier Varane, famously known as Raphael Varane, is a professional French soccer player. He currently dons the Manchester United jersey. He is active as a center-back for the same. 

The French player was born in Lille, France, on April 25, 1993. Varane started his young soccer career playing for the local club Hellenes. He was just seven at that time.

At Hellemmes, he spent two years. 

Then, he joined RC Lens, a professional club, in July 2002. Varane spent a lot of time in a training center-Centre de Préformation de Football and trained there during weekdays.

At Real Madrid

Varane’s young club career began with the French club Lens, as mentioned earlier in the article. After playing a season after his professional debut, he joined Real Madrid.

These included three La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, and one Copa del Rey.

In 2021, he left Real Madrid and signed a contract with Manchester United.

International Success & Prominence 

Beginning in 2013 itself, Varane had given performances that gained the attention of various soccer pundits and fans. In his El Classico debut against Barcelona, he stopped numerous attempts from a fiery Barcelona side. 

Varane also continued to star in the Champions League and received appraisals from many former soccer players, such as the former World Cup winner, Bixente Lizarazu.

Raphael Varane, a defender for Manchester United, has been officially ruled out until the Qatar 2022 World Cup, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Varane suffered an injury in the second half of Stamford Bridge’s Saturday 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
