Rising Star Andy Pages Is Making Strides At Just 24!

After making his MLB debut in 2024,  Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages’s outstanding performances have enamored all the baseball fans.

Andy Pages recently made headlines after his underwhelming performance during the Dodgers vs. Baltimore Orioles on September 6, 2025.

During Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s no-hit bid in Baltimore, Pages appeared to pull up short on Jackson Holliday’s home run ball. However, replays showed the shot was far out of reach, landing on a railing behind and above the wall. Therefore, Pages never had a real chance to make a leaping catch.

Andy Pages Left Cuba At Just 16, Chasing His Dream Of Becoming an MLB Sensation!

The rising star Andy Pages was born on December 8, 2000, in Havana, Cuba’s capital. Pages carried big dreams on his shoulders since childhood. After seeing his passion, his father, who was a carpenter, made simple wooden bats for young Andy. Those homemade bats further ignited his burning desire for baseball.

“His main job was fixing up boats and stuff like that. But he had friends that would specialize in wood. So they would give him some wood and they would make me some bats.”

Moreover, Pages was passionate about multiple sports, playing soccer, basketball, and baseball as a child. However, he eventually chose baseball and made a difficult decision to leave his homeland for the Dominican Republic in hopes of signing with a Major League team at the age of 16.

This decision was not easy for young Page, who had to leave his family, especially his father, back home. He still recalls that stage of his life as the hardest.

Therefore, the journey was full of uncertainty, requiring him to have patience at such a young age. Scouts doubted his speed and his weight, and he went eight months unsigned. He spent seven years away from Cuba, separated from family and often unable to communicate.

However, the rising star never lost hope and continued to refine his skills. This remarkable resilience and dedication earned him a place in the Minor Leagues and ultimately in the big leagues.

Pages signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers for $300,000 in 2018.  He swiftly demonstrated his prowess in the Minors and led the rookie league in extra-base hits in 2019. Moreover, Pages earned MVP and Top Prospect honors at High-A ball in 2021.

Then, he played in Double-A with Tulsa in 2022, and the following November, the Dodgers added him to their 40-man roster.  He was promoted to Triple-A in 2023, but suffered a shoulder labrum tear after just one game, which ended his season.

Pages made his Major League debut in April 2024, getting a hit in his first at-bat and subsequently getting his first home run.  Therefore, he finished his rookie year batting .248 with 13 homers and 46 RBI.

He also made history in the NLCS by becoming the first Dodgers rookie to hit two homers in a playoff game. Moreover, Pages was on their roster when they won the World Series.

Pages broke out further in 2025, winning NL Player of the Week in April and hitting his first multi-home run regular season game in June.

Therefore, at just 24, Andy Pages has demonstrated his unwavering dedication and prowess in the league, gaining praise and anticipation from both the fans and critics.

Today, he has all the professional gear imaginable. But up until now, nothing will rival the meaningful bats made by his father with his own hands. The bats that began his journey into baseball. When Pages finally returned to Cuba, he brought some of his own bats back to his dad, closing the circle.

Additional Information

  • Some sources have claimed that Andy Pages stands at 6 feet 1 inch and weighs approximately 212 pounds.
  • Pages shares his birthday with Portuguese professional footballer and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
  • During his Major League debut, Andy Pages used a bat that initially belonged to Cuban star José Abreu, which had been passed to him by his close friend and former teammate, Miguel Vargas.
