The Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell grew up with two siblings: an elders sister Anna and a younger brother, Will Howell.
While his brother Will carried the torch of the family into football, Howell’s sister Anna chose a corporate career. Currently, she is the senior marketing coordinator at the real estate agency Homes By Dickerson.
Sam Howell, born on September 16, 2000, made his NFL debut with the Commanders on January 8, 2023, against the Dallas Cowboys.
His big league debut was also his first-ever start as a backup to the team’s QBs, Taylor Heinicke & Carson Wentz.
The Washington Commanders chose him as the round-five (144th overall) pick of the 2022 NFL draft & signed a four-year rookie contract.
An alumnus of the University of North Carolina, Sam Howell, finished his college with 92 touchdowns for 10,283 passing yards; both were school records.
During his freshman year, he became the 2019 Military Bowl MVP as the Tar Heels booked victory against the Temple Owls (of Temple University). No wonder he was the 2019 ACC Rookie of the Year.
