Hockey player Amalia Weinstein passed away on February 16, 2025, in an unexpected manner.
Weinstein, 14, was part of the St. Albans Skating Association and was one of their terrific hockey players.
The St. Albans Skating Association wrote, “Our hockey community is devastated by the loss of Amalia. We’re working closely with NCSS to respond appropriately to this tragedy and the needs of her family, teammates, and friends.
Our love, compassion, sympathy, and support are with her family. Our hearts are broken, but her spirit will be with us always. Green and Gold Forever”

A few people in the comment section of the Facebook post shared by St. Albans Skating Association speculated that Amalia’s tragic demise is related to mental health trouble.
One Facebook user wrote, “Mental health is SO important. There have been several local kids who have lost their battle with mental health recently, and it’s truly heartbreaking.
VT (Vermont) needs way more resources for mental health, especially for young adults and kids.“
Many agreed with the Facebook user and chimed in, “We need more bullying consequences. This state needs to crack down on.”
They continued, “I honestly think a criminal record, community service with a sign on what they did.
Public embarrassment and the parents that allow them to bully should have to pay a big fine to the parents and the child being bullied.”
Community Rallies To Support Amalia Weinstein’s Family
The website Give In Kind has encouraged the Saint Albans native to help out the Weinstein family during this trying time.
The website has shared, “Let’s show love for Amalia’s family as they celebrate the life of their beautiful daughter.
Let’s really be around them and show them how loved they are and that they are not alone. Right now, we want to make sure they are fed and supported.”
Amalia is survived by her parents, Ann and Jordan, and her three siblings, David, Andrew, and Chloe.
The family has yet to share any posts related to her daughter’s demise.

Amalia’s dad, Jordan Weinstein, is a craftsperson and the owner of Dark Victory Armory.
Jordan started the workshop in 1997 and works with small and large productions as a prop designer and crafts historical and fantasy weapons, armor, and leather strap items such as belts and baldrics.
Previously, the local news network St Albans Messenger interviewed Jordan Weinstein about his work.
Weinstein said, “It’s crazy. People pay me for this.” In his interview, Jordan mentioned his wife, Ann, who encouraged him to start the armory business.
Jordan is available on Facebook and has previously shared a few family pictures.
On October 6, 2020, he shared a cute picture of Amalia on the dining table with her breakfast. He captioned it, “Amalia made her own breakfast.“
