Former Toronto Maple Leafs assistant coach Marc Savard has married twice; however, he has always kept his personal life pretty private, especially when it comes to his earlier years.
So far, details about his first marriage remain concealed from the media’s prying eyes, and he hasn’t mentioned it in public, either.
That said, Marc Savard and his first wife share three children: Zach, the eldest son; Isabella, his daughter who went on to study at McGill; and Tyler, the youngest of the three, who followed in his father’s footsteps playing junior hockey.
The former married couples already had their kids around Marc’s playing days. They showed up in family photos with the Stanley Cup back in 2011.
The details about their precise relationship timeline are also unknown since he has kept it private.
Following their divorce, Marc found happiness and a home again with Valerie.
Marc and Valerie, a Dental Hygienist, Have Been Married for 13 Years!
They have been together since around 2006, and they tied the knot in 2013.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Elle Moira Savard, on January 22, 2014, weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces.
The former Maple Leafs assistant coach had shared the news on Twitter, writing:
So proud of my wife last night she is a true warrior!! Elle Moira Savard 7 pounds 11 ounces born 12:58am

Unlike Marc, Valerie doesn’t belong to the sports fraternity. She works as a dental hygienist in Electric City Dental.
She has been his biggest cheerer through some really tough times.

Unlike his first wife, Marc has been vocal about her in public, especially how much Valerie meant to him during his struggles with post-concussion issues after his career ended.
In a 2016 piece from Stanley Cup of Chowder, he talked about those dark days when the symptoms were at their worst, saying he wouldn’t have made it through without her and the rest of the family.
Likewise, in 2021, Marc mentioned Valerie during an interview with Daily Faceoff while he was getting into coaching.
He praised Valerie for encouraging him to push himself and take new chances, even when he wasn’t sure about stepping back into hockey.
Marc praised her for helping him see he could still contribute to the game, saying:
She’s pushed me to get out there again and do things. Even this job. I wasn’t sure I could do it. Not that I couldn’t do it, but I didn’t know if it was something I wanted to do, to put myself out there.
