The Shreveport community is in mourning following the sudden death of 27-year-old Beau Reddy, a former Northwood High School football player, who tragically died in a car accident on November 2, 2025.
Beau’s bright spirit and kindness were taken from us too soon, ending a life full of promise and joy.
Beau’s devoted wife, Maelena Reddy, shared the devastating announcement on Facebook, pouring out her heart in a tribute that captures the depth of their bond.
“November 2nd was never a day that stood out to me. It never had any special meaning—until now,” she wrote. “That day is now the day I received the worst news of my life. I was told that my everything is gone. My world. My purpose. The one who made me a better person. The one who showed me true love. The person who could light up a room the moment he entered it. The one who made everyone feel extraordinary. The one who turned sad days into good ones. The one who showed up for everyone. The one who always knew exactly what to say. The best man I have ever known. It doesn’t seem real. I am in complete shock. Beau Reddy. To my sweet, perfect husband: If I had known that yesterday afternoon would be our last moments together, I would have held you longer and kissed you harder. I would have never let you walk out that door. I am so sorry this happened. You weren’t finished. We weren’t finished. We had so many plans. I could say so many things, but you already know them all. There was nothing left unsaid in our relationship. I miss you. Tucker misses you. But I know that you are still with us. I love you forever. Thank you for ten amazing years—the best years of my life.”

Maelena’s words paint a vivid picture of a man who lived with passion and purpose.
The couple, married since August 20, 2019, shared a home in Louisiana with their beloved dog, Tucker.
Their ten years together were filled with laughter, adventures, and the kind of deep love that inspires everyone around them.
Beau’s absence leaves a void that words can hardly describe, but his memory promises to endure through the stories they’ll carry forward.
Beau was a Standout Defensive Lineman for the Northwood Falcons in Shreveport
Wearing jersey number 34, he played varsity ball with grit and heart, helping his team through tough seasons and earning respect from coaches and teammates alike.
He graduated from Northwood High School in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of determination that his peers still talk about today.
After high school, Beau channeled that same drive into his education.
He studied at Texas State Technical College, earning his degree in 2022, and also attended Northwestern State University, always hungry to learn and grow.
In his professional life, Beau brought the same reliability and positive energy to his work at Arklatex Mechanical Service, LLC, where he was valued for his strong work ethic and ability to brighten even the longest days on the job.
Colleagues remember him not only as a coworker, but also as a friend who made the workplace feel like a family.
Tributes from those who knew Beau Best poured in, showing the Man he was
Chris Stuteville, a friend with whom he shared many laughs, struggled to find the right words.
“I’ve been trying to find the words to say but I keep hitting the delete button and refreshing my news feed because it just doesn’t seem real. We weren’t the closest of friends but everytime I was around you it was like reuniting with a long lost brother. I never thought leaving the track Saturday would be the last time I’d get to talk to you but I cherish every conversation we had.

R.I.P. Beau I’m grabbing right lane when I see you next time.”
Austin Hannigan, whose family grew close to the Reddys through marriage, spoke of the broader ripple of loss. He shared-:
“Our family grew a few years ago when my Dad remarried after mom passed away. God brought such a beautiful union together with Dad and Ellie Long Hannigan. Our family instantly became much larger and we love each of them dearly. Our hearts are broken hearing this news of Beau’s passing yesterday.

Please pray for our entire family especially Maelena, Nicole, Marshall, Carson and Ellie. I know without a doubt The Lord is near the broken hearted because His Word says so.”
Cole Foster Haskins kept it simple and sincere, reflecting on their friendship.
“Beau was a great friend, and a great man, I will always cherish the memories we had,” he said. “Prayers to the Reddy’s I love y’all.”

And Paine Carter, thinking of Beau’s love for cars and good times, added a touch of hope amid the pain. Paine wrote.

This family is hurting right now but we all know Beau is up there watching over them and being a protector for them now.
Rest In Peace Brother, keep the cars clean up there, we will enjoy car shows/events again man.
At just 27, he packed a lifetime of love into his years, on the football field, in the classroom, at work, and most of all, in the hearts of his family and friends.
As Shreveport holds Maelena, Tucker, and the entire Reddy family close, the community rallies with prayers and shared memories.
Beau may be gone, but his spirit, the one that lit up rooms and lifted spirits, will keep shining.
Rest easy, Beau. You’ve left us better for knowing you.
