The Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea has no husband but is believed to be dating a billionaire’s son. Many Romanian sites have reported that Ion Tiriac Jr is dating Sorana.
The two haven’t shared any Instagram posts for each other, but they have previously communicated through Instagram stories.
The Romanian businessman is the son of former ice hockey and tennis player Ion Tiriac, who is believed to have a net worth of $1.2 billion. The two share a common interest in fitness, with Ion Jr having shared several pictures of him working out.
After a disappointing exit from the Australian Open in the first round, Cirstea has bounced back in the Abu Dhabi Open. She defeated Maria Sakkari to reach the quarterfinals, and now Cirstea will face Daria Kasatkina.
Sorana Cirstea Husband: Is Tennis Star Married?
The Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea doesn’t have a husband and isn’t married. The tennis player publicly dated a fellow tennis player, Santiago Giraldo, in 2017.
And since their break up, Sorana had been hush-hush about her dating life, but that was until last year. The tennis is believed to be dating Ion Tiriac Jr, the son of former tennis player and businessman Ion Tiriac.
Last year, in July, Sorana faced criticism after sharing a post that read, “Make men masculine again. Make women feminine again.” Many tennis fans believed it to be a transphobic message.
But Ion Tiriac Jr. defended the tennis player and shared an Instagram story that read, “2023 in a nutshell. I want everyone to know I’m straight! So feel free to praise me for my incredible bravery.”
Also last year, the billionaire’s son shared a congratulatory post after Sorana reached the quarterfinals of the US Open.
He wrote, “28 years of practices. Over 25 serious injuries. No Xmas, no birthdays or New Year’s Eve. Over 1.000.000 km travelled. A life filled with tears, pains, doubt, and tough defeats! And then, at some point in this journey, this smile from the soul makes it all worthwhile!

Surprisingly, Ion and Sorana haven’t shared a single Instagram post for each other.
Sorana And Santiago Giraldo Dating Life
The two tennis players dated for three years, starting from 2014. Tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg was the one to break the news about the two dating. Many tennis fans were excited for this couple, as without a shadow of a doubt, they looked great together.
But unfortunately, their relationship didn’t go all the way. Sorana and Santiago turned pro the same year, 2006, and had an age gap of only three years.
And if Sorana is still progressing in her tennis career, Santiago decided to retire in 2020. The Colombian tennis player Santiago is one of the highest-ranked tennis singles players from Colombia.
At one point, he reached 28th in the world. Since their breakup, the two haven’t been linked to anyone from the tennis world or outside of it. Though they never stated why they broke up, it is believed it was to focus on their respective careers.
In 2017, the same year as their breakup, Santiago took a break from tennis. Giraldo said he was putting his career on pause for several reasons. He added he wanted to prioritize his life over tennis.
At the time, Santiago was going through poor form and had only won ten out of 27 main draws. Since retiring, Santiago has focused on helping tennis grow in Columbia and has established the Santi Giraldo Foundation.
Recently, on his Instagram, Santiago shared that someone had caught his attention, and he even thought to date them. But the former tennis player stated he feels rejuvenated nowadays and says he is growing every day.
Sorana Cirstea Family
The Romanian tennis player Sorona is one of two kids of Liliana and Mihai Cirstea. She has a brother named Mihnea, with whom she shares a strong bond.
Previously, Cirstea had talked a bit about her family during her blog era during the early 2010s. From eating ice cream with her dad and brother to celebrating Mother’s Day, young Sorana would write about all the current happenings of her life.
In one of her blogs, Sorana wrote she grew up in a family where men are gentlemen and treat women with a lot of respect and care. She said that on Women’s Day, the men in her household buy flowers and presents for all the ladies and take them out for dinner.

Sorana’s brother, Mihnea, is a lawyer and as previously stated by Romanian sites, used to be an athlete but had to quit because of injuries.
