A South Grand Prairie High School senior and baseball player, Issac Leal, died on June 2, 2025, at 17, succumbed to a severe head injury during a game of “Senior Assassin” in Arlington, Texas, that occurred more than a month ago.
Issac Leal is survived by his parents, Raquel Vazquez and Jose Leal, and extended family. His family, who were hopeful for his recovery, are now devastated by his demise.
His parents, Raquel and Jose, aren’t together. His father, Jose, has been married to Corina Leal since March 21, 2025.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death an accident, caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
After spending over a month on life support, fighting courageously, Issac Leal tragically passed away from a severe head injury sustained in a fall while playing the game Senior Assassin in Arlington on April 20, 2025.
Above all, the tragic incident happened when Leal was weeks away from graduating and had received scholarship offers to play baseball in college.

On April 20, 2025, Leal was participating in “Senior Assassin,” a popular game among high school seniors where players use water guns to “eliminate” assigned targets.
According to Arlington Police, Leal and other students were chasing each other in a residential neighborhood in the 6500 block of Devine Drive. During the game, Leal jumped onto the back of a parked Jeep Wrangler.
The driver, unaware of Leal’s risky position, reversed and drove through the neighborhood. After the Jeep turned onto Setter Drive and hit a dip in the road, Leal fell, striking his head on the pavement.
Cell phone and surveillance footage captured Leal standing on the back bumper of the Jeep before the vehicle accelerated. The video is currently circulating on social media platforms, garnering thousands of reactions and views.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who responded to the scene found Leal unconscious and transported him to Medical City Arlington. There he remained in a coma, undergoing multiple surgeries and tests.
Issac Leal’s Family Remained Hopeful Until the End!
Leal’s family, devastated by the loss, had expressed hope for his recovery until the end.
His mother, Raquel Vazquez, who had remained by his side, stated, “I have not been able to go home because I can’t imagine going home without him.”
Issac Leal’s father, Jose Leal, said. “He’s never been a person to give up.”
His mother, Raquel Vazquez, recounted that the Jeep was driven at high speed for approximately five minutes, making it impossible for Leal to safely dismount.
Seeking prayers, positive energy, and hope for a miracle, Raquel had organized a daily prayer session for Isaac Leal. On May 3, she announced on Facebook, writing:
Daily Prayer for Isaac Leal
Raquel Vazquez
We are setting up a daily prayer time for Isaac Leal at 6:00 PM every evening. We are asking everyone who can to stop and pray for his healing, stabilization of his vitals and blood pressure, wisdom for his doctors, and strength for his family.
Please set a daily reminder and join us in covering Isaac in prayer. Thank you for standing with us and believing for his complete healing.
To help cover medical expenses, Issac Leal’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign, which had raised over $21,000 by May 8, 2025, contributing to hospital costs.
Now, a separate GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the family with additional funeral expenses.
The family sought to transfer Leal to a different hospital for specialized care, but was unable to do so due to his unstable condition.
