Staley High School’s Nic Bologna, a rising football star and multi-sport athlete, has officially committed to Benedictine College, marking an exciting step in his athletic and academic journey.

Nicolas ‘Nic’ Bologna, a senior at Staley in Kansas City, Missouri, has demonstrated exceptional talent on the field and in the classroom.

As he prepares for his next chapter at Benedictine College, his commitment showcases not only his abilities as an athlete but also his dedication to pursuing excellence in both sports and academics.

At 6’2″ and 185 pounds, Bologna has been a key player for Staley Varsity Football, where he plays as a Strong Safety (SS) and Free Safety (FS).

His physicality and athleticism are evident in his performance, highlighted by his impressive 6’5″ wingspan, 185 lbs bench press, and 330 lbs squat, demonstrating the strength and agility needed to thrive at the collegiate level.

On top of his football career, Bologna is also a standout player for the Staley Varsity Basketball team, contributing to their successful 20-7 record in the 2024 season.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Bologna’s strong academic track record plays a pivotal role in his commitment to Benedictine College.

While many athletes focus solely on sports, Bologna has consistently demonstrated that academics are equally important to him.

The Benedictine College Ravens football program will benefit greatly from Bologna’s experience and leadership.

Throughout his high school career, Bologna has exhibited the type of dedication, discipline, and leadership that college coaches seek.

His athletic versatility, strong football IQ, and ability to play multiple roles in the secondary have made him a valuable asset to Staley High’s football team, and these qualities will undoubtedly serve him well as he transitions to collegiate football.

What makes Bologna’s story even more remarkable is his strong family legacy.

His father, Nicolas Bologna Sr., was a four-year starter for Park University’s men’s basketball team in the 1990s.

His achievements on the court helped lead Park University to an NAIA Final Four appearance in 1998, a defining moment in the program’s history.

Following his playing days, Nicolas Bologna Sr. turned to a career in sports and recreation, working as a Senior Recreation Director for the City of Kansas City and a personal trainer in the Kansas City area.

His leadership in local sports, combined with his passion for athletics, has undoubtedly influenced Nic Bologna’s own approach to sports and life.

Nic Bologna’s commitment to Benedictine College is not just a milestone in his athletic career but a reflection of the values instilled in him by his family.

Growing up in an environment where sports, discipline, and education were prioritized, Bologna has embraced these values and used them to fuel his own success.

As he heads to Benedictine College, Bologna joins a strong football program that will help him further develop his skills on the field.

But beyond football, his commitment to Benedictine College is a clear indication that he is ready to continue excelling academically as well.

Congratulations to Nic Bologna on this exciting achievement! Benedictine College is gaining not just a talented football player but a well-rounded student-athlete who will continue to make his mark in both athletics and academics.

With his drive and commitment, Bologna is poised for success in the next phase of his athletic journey. The future looks bright for this rising star!
