His father, Stanley, played basketball for Morgan State, while his mother, Glenda, is a homemaker. 

Kidd grew up with his three siblings; he has two elder brothers, Chapman Barksdale and Stanely Kidd Jr. Likewise, her older sister’s name is Jessica Kidd.

High School Career

Kidd went to Edmondson- Westside High school in Baltimore, Maryland, where he recorded 23 PPG, 12 RPG, and 6 APG during his senior year, leading the Red Storm to its first City Division I title. 

He was also named the team MVP in his senior season and earned All-metro player honors. 

Standon graduated from high school in 2010. 

Collegiate Career

The American professional basketball player played for three different teams in college. He played for South Plains College in his first and third years. 

In his first year, Stanton led the team in rebounds averaging 5.9 rebounds, and scored 7.9 PPG. Likewise, he recorded three double-doubles in that season. 

Kidd scored 11.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 1.3 APG in his sophomore season, helping the Texans win the 2011-12 National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship.

After earning an associate’s degree from South Plains College, he transferred to North Carolina Central University, where he averaged 14.5 points and 6.9 rebounds.

Stanton scored a season-high 24 points in a 66-62 win against North Carolina A&T. Hence; he was named to the to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference first team. 

In the 2013-14 season for senior year, Kidd transferred to Colorado State University and had to sit out because of NCAA transfer rules.

Kidd registered 11.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 1.8 APG in the 2014-1025 season. For his performance, he was selected as an honorable mention All-Mountain West honors. 

Professional Career

On July 27, 2015, Kidd signed his first professional contract, one year deal with Belgian club Limburg United.

He scored a season-high 18 points in a 110-78 win over Leuven Bears on October 16, 2015. Later, Kidd registered his first double-double with 18 rebounds and 14 points on December 18, 2015,

In the playoff, Stanton scored 15 points in an 87-80 win over Telenet Giants Antwerp. His team reached the semis but lost the series 3-2 against eventual champion Oostende. 

He ended his first professional season with 9.7 PPG, 5.6RPG, 1.1 APG, 7.8 PPG, 3.3RPG, and 0.6 APG.

Tigers Tubingen

On July 21, Kidd signed with the German side Tigers Tubingen for the 2016-17 season, where he averaged 12.8 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 1.2 APG over 20 games.

He scored 24 points in an 86-82 loss against EWE Baskets Oldenburg on January 8, 2017. 

First Championship

On July 21, 2017, Kidd agreed to sign a 2-year deal with the Turkish club Darussafaka. He recorded his career-high 24 points in a 98- 65 win over Gaziantep. 

He went on to win the 2018 EuroCup title with Darussafaka.

In his first season with Darussafaka, Kidd averaged 7.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists. He played over 20 games averaging 9.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in the 2018-2019 season. 

Short NBA Career

On July 21, 2018, Kidd signed with the NBA team Utah Jazz for the 2018 NBA Summer League.

Over six games in the summer league, Kidd registered 10.8 PPG and 3.3 RPG. His work ethic and playmaking ability impressed Jazz. So, he was included in 15 men’s squad for Jazz.

However, his NBA career didn’t go well. Stanton played only four games for Jazz and didn’t score any points. On November 21, 2019, Jazz waived him to sign Juwan Morgan. 

Melbourne United 

On July 17, 2019, Kidd signed with Melbourne United to replace Casey Panther for the 2019-20 season. 

He scored a season-high 21 points in a 94-104 win against The Hawks on January 25, 2020. Kidd helped the team secure a playoff spot but lost a series 3-2 against Sydney Kings.

Kidd averaged 9.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.5 assists over 20 games for United. 

2020-2022

On August 18, 2020, Kidd signed with Turkish club OGM Ormanspor, where he scored a season-high 23 points in a 77-66 win over Fethiye.

The professional basketball player recorded his career-high five assists in an 89-87 loss against Galatasaray on January 16, 2021.  

He played for Hapoel Jerusalem of the Isreali Basketball Premiere League in 2022 and Lokomotiv Kuban of the VTB United League in 2022.
