The Swedish former professional tennis player Stefan Edberg, and his wife, Annette Hjort Olsen, have been married for over three decades.
Born on January 19, 1966, in Vastervik, Sweden, Stefan Bengt Edberg started his tennis career as a junior.
As a junior player, he went on to become the first and only player to win all four Grand Slam junior titles in 1983.
Edberg, however, had to experience a terrible event in his debut year as a professional. During the 183 US Open, his errant serve caused the death of linesman Dick Wertheim.
Following this tragic event, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) discontinued the practice of having linesmen sit during matches.
During his peak career, the professional player has achieved numerous accolades, including singles titles in 12 countries.
He is among the only two men to be ranked No. 1 in both singles and doubles during the Open Era.
Moreover, Edberg retired from the sport in 1996, marking his achievements in history. Even after retiring, he still contributes to the sport by coaching the younger generation, including Roger Federer(2014-2015).
In September 2008, Edberg joined the “Black Rock Tour of Champions,” a tour designed for retired professional tennis players.
Edberg claimed his debut tour victory in Paris on clay, defeating Thomas Muster in the opening round and Sergi Bruguera in the finals, both renowned clay court specialists.

Before Olsen started dating Edberg in 1985, she was in a relationship with Edberg’s tennis rival Mats Wilander. Mats was a Swedish former world no. 1 tennis player who won seven major singles titles.
