Tamika Upton is an Australian professional rugby league athlete. She currently plays as a fullback for the Newcastle Knights of the NRL Women’s Premiership.
Initially a touch football and netball player, Upton played for the Queensland Cowboys of the NRL Touch competition in 2017. She also represented the Australian national team at the 2017 Trans Tasman series.
Upton debuted in the NRLW with the Brisbane Broncos in 2019 after signing with them on July 15. She joined the Central Queensland Capras a year later to play in the QRL Women’s Premiership.
After spending three seasons with the Broncos, Tamika signed with the Knights in 2022. She has recently extended her contract with the club, after which she will stay with them until the end of 2027.

Tamika Wins The 2023 Dally M Award
The NFLW awarded the 2023 Dally M Award to the Newcastle Knights fullback Tamika Upton on September 28.
Also named in the 2023 Dally M Team, Tamika won the award for her best performance in the ongoing season, where she has five tries and 56 tackles with 221 average running meters.
Speaking at an award ceremony, she thanked the club, teammates, and family for their support to help her achieve the feat.
Not to mention, she thanked her previous club as well.
Upton said, “I’m pretty lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing players and people really privileged to be a part of that club, as well as the Broncos girls.”
Tamika had joined the club in 2022 after a three-year stint with the Broncos. In her first season with the Knights, she led the club to the premiership title, where she became the player of the match in the grand final against the Paramatta Eels.
Moreover, Upton’s Knights are also in the grand final of this year’s premiership. They are facing the Gold Coast Titans this Sunday.
