Taysom Shawn Hill was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on August 23, 1990. He is an American football utility player officially designated as a quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL).

His versatility has given him a reputation as one of the NFL’s most distinctive players.

The Saints’ media refers to him as “The Human Swiss Army Knife” because of his flexibility.

Hill was born and reared in Pocatello, Idaho, where he graduated in 2009 after lettering in football, basketball, and track at Highland High School.

The quarterback received many offers from Western programs after graduating high school in 2009 and committed to Stanford right out of high school.

However, after returning from his LDS church mission, he discovered it would not be possible.

There was a provision that Stanford did not allow incoming freshmen to join the team until June. So, he enrolled at Brigham Young University the following January.

Taysom Hill Parents: Who Are Doug And Natalie Hill?

Taysom was born into the household of his parents, Doug and Natalie Hil. There is not a lot of information about his parents in public.

But in a recent documentary, his parents have told about what it was like for them to raise him as a child.

Taysom was the youngest child in the family and learned a lot from his two brothers and one sister.

Growing up in the Hills household was always competitive as all the Hill children constantly engaged in some activity.

They turned the house into a highly competitive playing ground, dividing themselves into two teams to play catch and football.

The kids loved going on quadbike rides with their father and would often race each other.

One can call his mother Natalie a superhero as her superpowers are cooking. The Christmas meal she would make has been a highlight for the whole family.

It includes baked ham, but Taysom’s favorites would be “Mom’s funeral potatoes.” Now living away from his family, he misses his mother’s cooking.

Why Was He Named Taysom?

When asked how the NFL superstar was named Taysom, his mother said it isn’t much of a story.

Taysom’s parents were looking for a unique name for their son. One of the criteria was that it would have to be of two syllables.

They wanted two syllables because their family name, “Hill,” is short.

They came across a famous construction company, “Taysom Construction Company”.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Pocatello region saw the company, which is now defunct, everywhere.

It fit all the criteria, had two syllables, and nobody had the name except for the company and the surname of its owners. So, they decided to name their youngest child Taysom Shawn Hill.

Taysom’s Brother Passed Away At A Young Age

Taysom’s older brother passed away at the age of 31 on March 25, 2016. He was born on May 17, 1984, making the age difference between the two brothers of about six years.

Dexter graduated from Highland High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He later earned the title of first-team all-state quarterback.

Dexter went on to play collegiate football at Scottsdale Community College, where he was named All-JuCo Offensive Player of the Year, before transferring to Dixie State University.

Dexter later worked in the construction sector in various jobs, excelling at handling heavy gear.

He enjoyed being outside, including motorcycling, camping, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and horseback riding.

Dexter took advantage of any opportunity to be outside. He did so most of the time with his family members.

Dexter’s love for God was equal to his love towards his family, particularly his daughter, Brielle, who was born on August 25, 2015.

Taysom learned many of his football moves from his brother, as the pair were very close to each other.
