The New Zealand native, Steven Adams, has never talked about his girlfriend publicly. In fact, Adams is one of those NBA stars who loves keeping his personal life out of the public limelight.
Born in Rotorua, New Zealand, and raised among 17 siblings, Adams moved to the USA in 2012 to play college basketball for Pittsburgh.

He missed the entirety of the 2023 season after undergoing surgery in October 2023.
Finally, on October 28, 2024, Adams returned to the NBA with his new team after 646 days.
Hopefully, Adam will soon return from the knee injury that kept him from participating in the NBA Cup’s semi-final win against the Warriors.
Is Kayla Kiriau Still Steven Adam’s Girlfriend?
For several years, many websites have claimed that Kayla Kiriau is Steven Adam’s girlfriend.
But there has never been a single sighting of the two basketball players.
Like Steven, Kayla hails from New Zealand and last played for South West Metro Pirates in 2021.
Before playing for SW Metro Pirates, Kayla also played for Gladstone Port City Power, a QBL team that dissolved in 2019.
But after 2021, it looks like Kayla has stepped away from basketball.
On her Instagram, Kayla is seen sharing posts from her travels and with her friends.
Her last post related to basketball came in 2021 with the Pirates’ team.
On social media, Kayla Kiriau has also not shared anything that could hint at her and Steven’s relationship status.
Is Steven Adams Dating Someone From Ottawa?
In June 2024, someone on the Ottawa subreddit shared a photo with Steven Adams at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival event.
The original poster who got to click a picture with Adams, though delighted, was confused as to why the Rockets center was in Ottawa during the off-season.
A user in the comment section wrote that Adams’ girlfriend goes to school in Ottawa. They likely meant she could be working in a school in Ottawa.
The user also wrote Adams and his girlfriend ate at a restaurant where their friend works and that the NBA player was in Ottawa even during the fall.
So, with Kayla present in New Zealand at the time, it looks like Adams could be seeing someone else.
There is also a high chance that the user on the Reddit comment section could also be joking around.
Another user also pointed out that Adams was seen in Ottawa in the fall/winter shortly after his knee injury. The user said he could be seeing a doctor in Ottawa.
The theory makes sense but doesn’t seem as fun as the previous one.
The only way we will ever know about Steven Adams’ romantic life is if the NBA star posts a picture with his partner.
