Toulouse’s defender, Thomas Ramos, is a man who leads by example not only on-field but off-field as well. He is one of only a few athletes who has publicly talked about his wife’s health struggle with endometriosis, a disease seen in women of reproductive age.
The same year as he was called up to the French senior squad, Thomas became vocal about the disease. He also became an ambassador for the EndoFrance Association.
He is one of the players to watch out in the ongoing Rugby World Cup. The defender stunned everyone with his performance in the opening game against the tournament favorite, New Zealand.
His parents, Sylvie and Robert, his sister, Lea, and his wife, Sophie, were all there at State de France to cheer him on.

Thomas Ramos’ wife, Sophie Ramos, has received public support from her husband during her endometriosis battle. The rugby player and Sophie first talked about this disease in 2019.
There aren’t many athletes who show public support or talk about their spouse’s health-related issues, but Thomas isn’t one of them. The rugby player supported his wife by becoming an ambassador for the EndoFrance association.
In an interview with 20 Minutes in 2019, Ramos said his wife had already undergone two operations to treat the disease. He said there are days when it’s fine, and there are days when it gets complicated.
Thomas added that men should support their partner, wife, or daughter when they see them suffering in silence. The defender also said there were times he felt helpless as there isn’t much one can do to help one partner ease the pain.
He said, “The most important thing, from the start, is to listen. Apart from listening, being present during painful moments, whether physical or psychological.”
Endometriosis is a disease suffered by roughly 10% of reproductive-age women and girls globally. Ramos insists there needs to be more awareness among the population about the disease.

Thomas Ramos and his wife, Sophie Ramos, tied the knot last year on July 30. The couple had their wedding ceremony in a church in Chateau de Fajac la Relenque, Southern France.
The rugby player shared a few photos from the wedding ceremony a couple of weeks after their wedding. Before their nuptials, the couple enjoyed their vacation in Spain, with Ramos posting a series of pictures from their trip.
The couple exchanged their vows a year after getting engaged. On September 24, 2021, Thomas shared a black and white photo of hugging Sophie with the engagement ring seen on Sophie’s finger.
Despite, being together for a long time, Sophie and Thomas became Instagram official only in December 2020. The rugby couple stood in front of their Christmas tree, as Thomas captioned the post, “We wish you all a wonderful holiday season.”
Recently, Sophie attended the opening game of France against New Zealand with her and Thomas’ family. There’s no doubt Sophie returned home, in a good mood, as her husband was the star of the game.
