Josef Newgarden parents Joey and Tina Newgarden were well aware of the challenges & risks in the racing career. But more than that, they were leaned to make their son’s dream come true- a professional race car driver.

But this injury won’t keep him away from the racing tracks. And 28 days after the crash, he returned in the 2016 Iowa Corn 300 & dominated with a lead in 282 of 300 laps.
As of this writing, Newgarden ranks #4 in the NTT IndyCar Series.
In addition to his abilities behind the wheel, Newgarden has competed in the NFL Combine and the Indiana Pacers Slam Dunk Contest.

Who Are Josef Newgarden Parents?
Newgarden’s parents are Joey and Tina Newgarden, who ran a family photography business in New York before they moved their business to Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1980s.
The two have supported their son’s racing efforts and attended many of his races ever since he was a young child.
They have been seen celebrating with him, following his victories, and showing their satisfaction at his achievement.
Josef’s father, an attendant of Lear High School, currently works as the chief executive officer of Racer of Tomorrow LLC (2004- present), as per his LinkedIn profile.
Previously, Joey used to work as a chief operating officer at Nationwide Studios, Inc. (1973- 2008) and then at Newgy Industries, Inc. (2010- 2017).
Moreover, from 2021 to 2022, he served as the CEO of Newgy Industries Inc.
Newgarden’s father is an avid fan of NASCAR, IndyCar, and Formula 1 & used to watch those sports on TV with his son Josef. It would inflict the latter to pursue his car racing career.

Josef Newgarden is the only son of three children to his parents. Also, he is the youngest of all.
The two times IndyCar Series champion has two sisters: Josephine Newgarden (eldest) and Kristina (second-eldest).
Currently, Josephine works as an accounting executive at Pyxis Dispensing Solutions (2017- now).
She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville & then obtained an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
Josephine leads a happy married life with her husband, Caleb Chaney. They married on June 17, 2017, after a year of engagement. Moreover, the two are now parents of a son named Emmett Joseph Chaney (b. February 10, 2021).
On the other, Newgarden’s other sister Kristina has remained low-key. Nothing much on her is out except she has a partner named Joe.

Josef Newgarden shares the fatherhood of a son with his longtime-girlfriend-turned wife Ashley Welch. As reported, they met in 2012 & began dating shortly after.
Following six years of their relationship, Josef proposed to her while they were on vacation in Japan. The two took to Instagram in October 2018 to announce their engagement.
His wife Ashley was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed her education at Georgia Perimeter College.
Back in 2014, she was working at Disney and also had brief acting stints.
The couple married in October 2019 in Nashville.
Together, they are parents to a son named Kota Nicolai Newgarden, born on April 20, 2022.

Josef Newgarden Career
Newgarden joined Team Penske in 2017, one of the top teams in the IndyCar Series. In his first season with the team, he won his first IndyCar championship, with four race wins and seven podium finishes.
He finished second in the championship standings in 2018, with three race wins and ten podium finishes.
Newgarden has also had success at the Indianapolis 500, one of the most prestigious races in motorsports. He finished third in the race in 2016 and 2019 and won the race in 2021.
Throughout his career, Newgarden has established himself as one of the top drivers in the IndyCar Series, with a total of 20 race wins, 64 top-five finishes, and 92 top-ten finishes.
In 2019, Newgarden won his second IndyCar championship after finishing on the podium four times and winning two races.
