A coach yelled at the Lakeview players after they won the game in the final three seconds and walked through the post‑game handshake line.
According to eyewitness accounts, Samantha Swaw, a TLCA teacher and scorekeeper, allegedly lashed out at Lakeview players and parents during the post-game handshake line.
The incident reportedly involved verbal abuse, including yelling and inappropriate language directed at children.
The confrontation has sparked outrage, especially given Swaw’s role as an educator at a Christian school.
The behavior was described as unprofessional and demeaning, with concerns raised about the example being set for students.
The incident has prompted calls for accountability and a reevaluation of adult conduct in youth sports environments.
Samantha Swaw Accused of Verbally Abusing Lakeview Players Following Close 22-21 Finish!
During the last seconds of the TLCA vs. Lakeview game, TLCA called a timeout with one second left, and the referee added two more seconds.
In those three seconds, a Lakeview player scored, ending the game 22–21.
Right after the final buzzer, during the handshake line, witnesses say TLCA teacher and scorekeeper Samantha Swaw started yelling at the Lakeview kids.
This is when she allegedly called the players “trash” and used inappropriate language toward them.
Parents who were there said it all happened on the court, in front of everyone, turning a normal post‑game handshake into a moment that embarrassed and upset the children.
Lily Ledezma first posted about the incident on Facebook, recounting how her nephew scored the winning points and how Swaw reacted aggressively afterward.
She criticized Swaw’s behavior and questioned the values being modeled at TLCA.
In response, Jene’e Marie, a grandmother of one of the Lakeview players, shared her own account, stating:
“I couldn’t believe I saw a teacher / the scorekeeper, calling out students, calling them trash, bullying children.”
She emphasized the need for better role models and called the behavior unacceptable.
Both posts focused on the emotional impact on the children and the failure of leadership in a school setting that should prioritize respect and sportsmanship.
Many people have commented on the post, offering a mix of support, criticism, and personal observations about the incident.
They shared their own perspectives, with one person saying
“It’s actually a teacher’s assistant… crazy that she acted this way but I’m more than sure she will be reprimanded for this. That school don’t play when it comes to who is representing them.”
Another commenter challenged the author’s account, writing
“You were literally trying to fight her with a baby in your hands — and she said she wasn’t gonna fight you. At the end of the day.. it is just a game.”
Others defended Samantha Swaw, including one who stated
“Never heard her yell at anyone including the kids. She was the scorekeeper and she was addressing the refs!”
A coach behaving this way in front of other parents and young players shows how quickly a simple school game can turn into a much bigger issue when adults lose control.
