Trey Williams, who turned 18 on April 28, is currently being held in jail, accused of causing a car crash that killed Mason Alexander, a football player for the University of Pittsburgh.

The crash occurred on March 1 in Fishers, Indiana, where Williams was driving a BMW south on Florida Road near 113th Street when he attempted to pass another vehicle.

While doing so, he entered the northbound lane and encountered a Toyota RAV4 from the opposite direction.

Williams swerved off the road to avoid a collision, drove into a grassy area, struck a tree, and the car caught fire. The Toyota also left the road and hit a mailbox.

Mason Alexander, who was a passenger in the BMW, died at the scene.

Mason had recently graduated early from Hamilton Southeastern High School in December 2024.

He had already enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, where he had joined the football team as a cornerback.

Officials Confirm Trey Williams Was Tested For Drugs and Alcohol, But Results And Crash Details Remain Unreleased

In the weeks following the crash, Alexander’s family sought answers about what led to the incident.

Although officials confirmed that Williams was tested for drugs and alcohol, no results were released publicly, and details about the crash remained limited for some time.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office explained that the investigation followed set procedures to ensure nothing was overlooked and that the process remained fair for everyone involved.

Williams’s court date is not listed, and the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has not made final charging decisions.

At the same time, Brandi L. Carroll said that at a recent rally for Mason, his family revealed that they have not received any form of apology from the Williams parents, Erin, or Jeff.

The Justice for Mason Alexander page and Alexander’s cousin, Sharice Pattersoncalled out Trey Williams, saying he used to call Mason a friend but hasn’t shown genuine remorse for what happened.
