Jacob Gifford Was A Devoted Student-Athlete At Trinity Catholic High School!
During his years at Trinity Catholic, Jacob Gifford distinguished himself both academically and athletically.
He was a dedicated student who graduated with the Class of 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance.
As a student-athlete, Jacob competed as a swimmer for Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida.
At the 33rd Catholic State Invitational held on September 14, 2024, at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, Florida, Jacob Gifford recorded some of his best swimming finishes as part of Trinity Catholic High School’s team.
He swam the 50-yard freestyle in 28.88 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:09.64, demonstrating steady progress in individual events.
Jacob also competed with his relay team, helping secure a time of 1:59.84 in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 4:34.38 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
These performances reflected both his commitment to the sport and his contribution to the Celtics’ swimming program.
Likewise, Official Florida high school swim meet records from September 27, 2024, list him, age 17, entered in the men’s 50-yard freestyle (seed time 28.88) and 100-yard freestyle (seed time 1:05.22) at the Florida High School Developmental Meet.
Although he was entered in both events, the results indicate “NS” (No Start), meaning he did not swim in that particular meet.
His participation in swimming reflected his discipline and determination, qualities that carried over into his education and personal life.
Beyond athletics, Jacob was admired for his character, leadership, and the way he encouraged others to strive for their best.
Many of his classmates, friends, and parish members shared prayers and condolences, offering support to his family during this time.
